Kuniya College of Arts and Science organized Kalajatha 2025 youth awareness program against drug abuse under the leadership of the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board and the Excise Department with the support of various organizations. The event was coordinated by NSS Unit-98 and the Anti-Narcotic Cell of the college as part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare and student development.
The program was designed to create strong awareness of the harmful impact of substance abuse and to encourage students to remain committed to healthy choices. Through a series of cultural and educational activities, the message was communicated in a way that connected directly with young audiences. The sessions highlighted the dangers of drug use, the social and personal consequences of addiction, and the responsibility of youth in building a safe society.
A major highlight of the event was the performance by Pournami Theatres, a cultural troupe well known for its commitment to social awareness campaigns. Their presentation used drama and storytelling to capture attention and convey the importance of rejecting drugs and choosing a meaningful path in life. The performance left a lasting impression on students and faculty alike.
Kalajatha 2025 went beyond being a program on awareness. It served as a platform for students to understand their role in preventing substance abuse and to recognize how individual actions contribute to a larger social cause. The initiative strengthened the resolve of the campus community to stand united against drugs and reinforced the values of responsibility, discipline, and social commitment among students.
